Uphold the Rights of Persons with Disabilities through Spreading Consciousness (URPDSC)
With the financial support of the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD), Taiwan, and the implementation by Prattasha Samazik Unnayan Sangstha (PSUS) the project “Uphold the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities through Spreading Consciousness (URPDSC)” is being carried out in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila to enhance the democratic rights of persons with disabilities. Below is an overview of the project:
Project Name: Uphold the Rights of Persons with Disabilities through Spreading Consciousness (URPDSC)
Donor Organization: Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD), Taiwan
Total Beneficiaries: Direct beneficiaries: Persons with disabilities – 700, Harijan – 100, Dalit – 50, Blacksmith – 10, Potter – 10, Slave – 100, Fisherman – 50, total: 1,020. Additionally, men are 400, women are 400, adolescents are 400, teenage girls are 400, and youth are 100, totaling 1,800. Total: 2,720.
Duration: From April 2021 to November 2024
Project’s Overall Goal: To provide education on the rights of persons with disabilities through seminars for both women and men raising awareness about the rights of persons with disabilities.
Activities:
Education Seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabled People with Male-15 nos
Education Seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabled People with Female-15nos
Project’s Specific Objectives:
- Support the rights of marginalized women and children.
- Enhance the skills and establish equality within the target population (both women and men) of the organization.
- Create opportunities for self-employment for persons with disabilities by improving their skills and raising public awareness to prevent disabilities.
- Ensure the right to education for both persons with disabilities, women, and men.
- Protect and rehabilitate the rights of persons with disabilities and marginalized individuals.
- Provide legal assistance to neglected communities.
Project’s Output/Outcome: Through this project, 2,720 beneficiaries have become aware of the rights of persons with disabilities.
