Child Empowerment Program (CEP)
With financial support from Liliane Foundation (LF), Netherlands, and in collaboration with the Center for Disability in Development (CDD), Prattasha Samajik Unnayan Sangstha (PSUS) is implementing various activities in Chuadanga Sadar under the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach. The goal is to support persons with disabilities in participating in their communities, improving their quality of life, and ensuring equal opportunities.

Total: 9,208.

Overall Goal of the Project: To support persons with disabilities in their communities through the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach, enabling them to improve their quality of life and ensure equal opportunities.
Specific Objectives of the Project:
- To create educational opportunities for children and youth with disabilities, increase school enrollment, and create accessible learning environments.
- To enhance the capacity of school teachers and school management committee members regarding the management of children with disabilities.
- To provide educational support materials for children with disabilities.
- To increase knowledge of adolescent girls with disabilities regarding puberty, adolescence, and reproductive health.
- To ensure rehabilitation, medical, and other services for children with disabilities, supporting their physical and mental development.
- To raise awareness among the parents of children with disabilities and ensure a quality rehabilitation process in coordination with medical services.
- To provide training for youth with disabilities for self-employment opportunities.
- To ensure the inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in society and the use of affordable, quality assistive devices that improve their mobility and accelerate personal development.
- To sensitize everyone at the local level, encouraging the inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in society and connecting them with social safety programs and other government services.

Project Output/Outcome: Through this project, 988 beneficiaries received healthcare services, 580 received educational materials, 423 received assistive devices, 611 received medical assistance, 450 received educational stipends, and 1,256 received training under the income-generating program (236 in tailoring, 350 in livestock and cattle fattening, 350 in goat farming, 320 in poultry farming). Additionally, 250 received leadership development training, 380 received entrepreneurship development training, 220 received ICT training, 250 received IGA support, 465 received social security and golden citizen cards, and 189 became members of the Union Parishad Standing Committee.
